Burslem is the Mother Town of Stoke-on-Trent in the Staffordshire Potteries. It is packed with stunning buildings from across the ages. It is pronounced “Burzlem”, not “Bursslem”.
Our aim is to help businesses, organisations and the town itself to thrive
This website is an open, independent and free platform for anybody who lives or works in Burslem – or visits – to share what they are doing. We want to show the wealth of Burslem life, so often hidden behind walls, and attract people to the town. We also want to make sure that when people visit, they have a great time and get a helping hand to find their way around if they need it.
It is being developed by local volunteers using the fantastic free Blogger platform and with additional help from Jellifish, Live and Learn Land and Talk About Local.
Are you the official tourist board / regeneration company?
No, the Tourist Board is here and the Burslem Regeneration Company can be contacted via the City Council.

This site is independent for and by anyone in Burslem who wants to read and contribute.
Some people who have visited or stayed in Burslem include: Josiah Wedgwood, Charles Darwin, Arnold Bennett, Robbie Williams, Alec Guinness… we’re not sure we believe the rumours about Elvis Presley.
